Terms and Conditions

Please read the following terms and conditions carefully, as they set out the contract between yourself, the persons listed on the booking form and/or in correspondence (the passenger) on the one hand and Champagne Ski Travel on the other.

Contract  

Once payment in whole or part has been made by the passenger or agent, or a booking form signed by the client or agent, or a written or verbal confirmation of the booking has been sent to Champagne Ski Travel by the passenger or agent, the passenger (and the agent) is deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions and to have made a reservation. 

Reservations/ Deposits

A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the tour / holiday price is payable immediately on making the reservation. The balance of payment is due 8 weeks prior to departure. Champagne Ski travel reserves the right to cancel your reservation should the relevant amounts not be paid by the due dates.

Prices:

Our prices are quoted in South African Rands and are subject to currency fluctuation. We guarantee the price only once full payment has been received. Final payment will be calculated on the prevailing rate of exchange at the time of full payment, (calculated on the full tour / holiday price) and any currency surcharges will be invoiced and are payable once the balance of the tour has been paid. Should the rand strengthen against foreign currencies, then the price of the holidays shall not be decreased. Prices quoted are based on cash payment. Credit card payments are subject to surcharge. It is the obligation of the passenger to request an amended invoice 8 weeks prior to departure, setting out currency fluctuations, extra services and price increases. Champagne Ski Travel reserves the right to increase your holiday price as a result of changes in our costs of supplying your holiday resulting from exchange rate fluctuations, transportation charges, accommodation increases, increased costs of entertainment inclusions, airfares and any other factors or items, for any reason whatsoever.

Unused services

No refund will be considered for unused services, regardless of the reasons therefore.

Amendment fees 

Champagne Ski Travel may charge R500.00 per person for each amendment made after the booking is confirmed.

Itinerary changes

While we make every effort to comply with the itinerary we reserve the right to make changes for the sake of convenience. In some cases weather, airline flight cancellations, changes to flight itineraries, changes forced on us by hotel and taxi suppliers and the like, may cause these changes. In these circumstances, no refunds will be considered.

Documentation

Passengers need to ensure they are in possession of all the correct documentation required prior to departure. Champagne Ski Travel cannot be held responsible for passengers failing to comply with visa, health or passport requirements. Passengers need to reconfirm their outwards and return flights 72 hours prior to departure. We recommend fully comprehensive travel and medical insurance is taken out. Passengers need to ensure that passports and visas are in order prior to departure from South Africa or country of origin. Please check all details on your confirmation, invoice and all other documentation carefully. If there are errors we need to be advised on receipt thereof or we cannot be held responsible.

Cancellation by client or agent

Cancellations need to be made in writing and cancellation charges will be levied in accordance with the following table, calculated from the date of receipt of written cancellation, on times prior to departure (unless otherwise agreed in writing), and whether paid or payable:

• More than 8 weeks: Deposit paid or payable (if not paid) is forfeited plus any relevant hotel and supplier cancellation fees.
• 6 weeks to 8 weeks, 60% of the tour price is forfeited plus any relevant hotel and supplier cancellation fees.
• 4 weeks to 6 weeks, 80% of the tour price is forfeited plus any relevant hotel and supplier cancellation fees.
• Less than 4 weeks, 100% of the tour price is forfeited.

Should you decide to curtail or cancel your holiday for any reason once full payment has been made, then Champagne Ski Travel will be committed to the full payment of suppliers, and no refunds will apply. Champagne Ski Travel therefore reserves the right to keep monies paid in advance of the cancellation schedule above. We recommend that you insure against cancellation and curtailment.

Cancellation by Champagne Ski Travel

Champagne Ski Travel reserves the right at any time to cancel any holiday for any reason, in which case all monies paid to Champagne Ski Travel will be refunded in full. No damages or claims for compensation will apply.

Transfers

Any transfers missed or altered by the client cannot be our responsibility. Transfer times and coach sizes are at the discretion of Champagne Ski Travel.

Accommodation

We reserve the right to change requested accommodation to that of a similar grade or better, without prior notice and without any obligation to refund any monies. Where the clients request a change, an amendment fee and/ or cancellation fee may be charged.

Delays

Champagne Ski Travel cannot be responsible for any delays prior to departure or during the holiday due to technical difficulties, strikes, weather or any other circumstances, including errors and omissions on the part of any of our hotels, taxis or suppliers. Any expenses relating to these delays will be for the passengers account.

Responsibility and Liability

Transport, accommodation and other services are not under our control and Champagne Ski travel acts as an agent for the suppliers of these services. Therefore we cannot be liable for any loss, injury, accident or delay arising from these services. We do all possible to ensure that all arrangements and services are carried out as specified. However we have no direct control over the provisions of services by the suppliers. We strongly recommend that the passenger have adequate travel insurance to cover medical and other unforeseen events.
